Sometimes it is hard to pull the rotating disc off as
there is no room to grab it. We recommend removing the front spout (2
screws) and the small spring covering the opening (2 screws), and you
can see the rotating disc from the opening.

With the tip of a flat-heat screwdriver, you can
reach inside the hole and push the rotating disc out until it comes
off the shaft.

Clean the shaft and the opening of the rotating disc
with fine steel wool.

Clean the brass locking pin with the steel wool.

Lubricate the shaft and the opening of the rotating
disc with mineral oil. Place and line up the hole on the shaft with
the opening in the rotating disc. Insert the brass pin.

Using steel wool, clean the outside diameter of the
rotating disc and the inside of the silver cap. Place mineral oil on
the outside of the rotating disc shaft and push the cap on.

On the cover plate, you need to loosen the adjusting
screw (088) and adjusting bushing (099). They may be frozen due to
dried up grease. If you leave the cover plate assembly in hot water
for a few hours, the grease may be able to loosen up to where you
can turn the center screw. Try not to damage the screw. With a large
screwdriver, drive it through to come out of the other end. Clean up
the old grease and re-lubriacte.

Remove the adjusting bushing (099). Turn it
clockwise to remove. Clean up the old grease and re-lubricate.

Clean the outer edge of the grinding chamber and the
mating surface of the grinding chamber cover so that the parts fit
perfectly.

Reassemble the parts. Install the cover plate on the
grinding chamber; the two spring-loaded pins should be at the 6
o'clock and 12 o'clock positions. Pull the two spring-loaded pins
from the outside of the cover plate, clean them with steel wool,
lubricate them with mineral oil, and place them back in the holes.

Leave the adjusting screw backed off but turn the
adjusting collar all the way in until it stops (counter-clockwise).

Place some grease on the inside of the dial over the
area that has the indentations for the stops for different grind
settings.

Place the dial on the grinder chamber with the black
adjusting knob facing all the way up (espresso).

Replace the disc (101) and tighten the screws to
fit.

Leave the hex nut (90) loose.

Push the bag sensor lever up and start the motor.
Turn the adjusting screw (088) until you hear the disc touching.
Back off one revolution and tighten the hex nut. You need to hold
the adjusting screw with a screwdriver, and tighten the hex nut with
an open-end wrench so that your calibration does not change.

Replace the spring over the discharge opening, and
replace the spout.

Turn the grinder on and move the lever through the
different positions to make sure that it is moving freely.

Set the adjusting knob to the finest setting and
place a handful of coffee beans in the grinder. Grind. Repeat this
process on the coarsest setting.

If you need to adjust the grind finer or coarser,
loosen the hex nut and move the adjusting screw in or out, and lock
it in.

Place the housing cover back in place and enjoy your
grinder!
